NC and Congress lawmakers created a new precedence of getting into the assembly as a protest march. They were shouting slogans against RSS and Israeli agenda being implemented by the BJP in Kashmir.

They carried placards seeking justice and answers to the massive bloodshed. “Stop state terrorism,” read one placard.

“What did you people do in Humshalibugh, we resorted to a massacre,” Majid Larmi said, addressing the treasury benches. Carrying a black band on his forehead, Larmi said the ruling government destroyed everything.

Mohammad Akbar Lone asked treasury benches why did they bring shame to the sate. “You got votes for one thing and you ended up doing something else,” he said.

Interestingly, all these things happened in the assembly when it was yet to start.

When it finally started, the entire opposition was not on their seats, they were protesting. These included Engineer Rashid as well. The opposition was seeing inclusion of the recently slain people in the obituary references.

Though Speaker Kavinder Gupta was trying to convince the opposition that their concern will be taken care of, NC strongly objected. As Devinder Singh Rana was vocally interrupting the Speaker, Larmi got into the well of the House. Rana said that the opposition would not permit the Speaker to declare the assembly sine die as it happened last time. This time we will not permit it, he said, “we will tal about the people and what you have done to them.”

After the assembly’s last session, as many as five members of the twin houses of the state assembly died in addition to Garesh Chander Saxena, the former governor. Members who died include Ali Mohammad Naik, Rangil Singh, Nizamuddin Shah, Rishi Kumar Koshal, and Shanti Devi.
