SRINAGAR: Ahead of the assembly elections, authorities in Baramulla have intensified efforts to ensure smooth campaign practices by strictly regulating prior permissions.
An order issued by the District Election Officer, outlines clear guidelines for political parties and candidates, requiring them to obtain permission for holding rallies, public gatherings, roadshows, and setting up election-related materials such as banners and loudspeakers.
The concerned Returning Officers, including the Additional District Magistrate Baramulla, can grant these permissions, ensuring that all campaign activities are carefully managed within their designated areas, as well as at the district level.
This move is part of an effort to maintain law and order during the election period, prevent disruptions, and promote a peaceful electoral process.
The polling in the UT will be held in three phases on September 18, 25, and October 1, as per the Election Commission of India. The counting of the votes will take place on October 4.
