SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah chaired a high-level review meeting at the Civil Secretariat on Thursday, where he assessed the functioning of government departments and set stringent benchmarks for completing developmental projects within 100 days and one year.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary, Cabinet Ministers Javid Ahmad Rana, Sakeena Itoo, and Javid Ahmad Dar, as well as Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo and other administrative secretaries. Senior officials participated both in person and virtually.
Each administrative secretary presented detailed vision documents outlining specific deliverables to be achieved within the two timelines. These included major policy decisions, the completion of ongoing projects, and the initiation of new developmental schemes.
Highlighting the need for timely project execution, Chief Minister Abdullah underscored the importance of meeting public expectations through efficient and transparent governance. “Adhering to strict timelines is crucial for achieving our developmental goals and ensuring public trust,” he stated.
Discussions focused on streamlining strategies to meet the targets, with Abdullah urging all departments to work collectively to ensure transparency, accountability, and prompt action in implementing the outlined plans.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from all officials to meet the Chief Minister’s deadlines and prioritise public welfare through effective governance.
