According to the Chief Minister’s Office, Omar Abdullah said severe travel disruptions caused by ongoing airline issues had made it difficult for many candidates to reach their examination centres. The situation, he noted, has been compounded by the continued delay at Lok Bhavan regarding approval of age relaxation—a concession granted multiple times in previous recruitment cycles.
Aspirants have said the combination of choked travel routes and the pending age-relaxation order has placed them under immense pressure just days before the examination.
In a post on X, the Chief Minister urged the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) to acknowledge the challenges being faced by candidates and to consider postponing the JKAS Preliminary Examination “in the interest of fairness and equal opportunity”.
