Scores of doctors on Wednesday strongly condemned the civilian killings in Kashmir.

In an innovative protest, the doctors blocked their eyes to “feel what it means to lose eye sight”.

Holding a sit-in protest in the lawns of GMC Srinagar, the doctors said that the protest was in solidarity with those who were blinded by the pellet guns used by forces in past month during mass civil uprising.

The doctors, a statement issued by Medical Faculty Association (MFA) said, “authorities should put an immediate end to use of pellet guns.

They said that despite repeated concern expressed by specialist doctors from valley and outside, pellet guns are being used unabated tearing apart eyes and vital organs.

The doctors condemned the use of tear gas shells in and around the hospital premises of the valley. They appealed people to ensure safe passage of ambulances.
