The Department of ARI & Trainings has impressed upon all the Government Departments as well as their subordinate offices to get their printing jobs done by the Government Press, Srinagar/Jammu.
In a circular issued, the Department has advised General Managers of Government Press Srinagar and Jammu not to issue NOC in favour of any Department without approval of the Administrative Department, an official spokesperson said tis evening.
Any deviation in this regard will be taken seriously and action shall be initiated as warranted under rules, the circular said.
The circular says the ARI & Trainings Department has already issued the instructions and guidelines vide Government Order No. 08-ARI of 2007 dated 13.06.2007, in which it has been ordered that all the Government Departments shall have to get printed their forms, books etc. through Government Press Srinagar/Jammu.
However, in case of exigency, printing shall have to be made through private firms only after obtaining the NOC from Government Press Srinagar/Jammu.
The circular says that it has come to the notice of the Government that some Departments and educational institutions are assigning the printing and publishing work to private printing presses at their own level on exorbitant rates without observing the codal formalities.
This amounts to great financial loss to the state exchequer, the circular adds.
