The Jammu and Kashmir police issued a statement on Thursday with reference to Kulgam incident which took place on September 07, 2016. The statement is being reproduced here verbatim
Apropos to the news story titled, “Kulgam man dies of cardiac arrest amid teargas shelling” published in some newspapers published from Srinagar today.
As per the district police authorities Kulgam, the said person suffered cardiac arrest in Chawalgam village at around 09:00 AM in the morning.
There was no tear smoke shelling in the morning at that place. Security forces had to use tear smoke at 03:00 PM in the area to disperse the miscreants when they were pelting stones on the security force deployment.
The allegation that the said person died due to cardiac arrest amid tear gas shelling is factually incorrect and as such the story is rebutted.
