J&K government has imposed restrictions in several police stations in Srinagar and huge deployment of police and CRPF men has been made across the summer capital and other parts of Valley in view of resistance leadership called march to Raj Bhawan.

“All the roads leading to Lal Chowk-  residency Road side – have blocked with razor wires spread across the roads while police vans have been placed at major checkpoints in Srinagar,” eye witnesses said.

“Restrictions have been imposed in five police stations of Old Srinagar, Batamaloo police station,” a police spokesperson told Kashmir Life, “there are restrictions in area falling under police stations of Nishat, Nehru Park and Ram Munshi Bagh as well.”

Forces are not allowing anyone go towards historic Clock Tower (Ghanta Ghar) but the light movement of private and government motor vehicles can be seen on MA road.

Men in uniform are checking heavily vehicles and frisking pedestrians at Budshah bridge, an eyewitness said. Such surprise exercises were carried out on Thursday as well.

In its latest calendar, the pro-freedom leaders have asked people to march towards governor’s office today and handover a letter, asking him to “vacate” Jammu & Kashmir. However, severe restrictions have been imposed to thwart any such march. Further, people have been asked to offer mandatory Friday congregational prayers on Foreshore road.

People coming through Foreshore are facing problems. “There is curfew like restrictions and forces are not allowing us to move further,” a Journalist who was on way to Mushtaq Ali Enclave from Ganderbal said. His car was stopped ahead of reaching Nishat at Foreshore.

The death of top Hizbul Mujahideen Commander Burhan Wani triggered massive public uprising since July 09, 2016. At least 94 civilians have been killed while over 15000 others have been injured in forces action.
