Reacting to the criticism of opposition parties of J&K state, People’s Democratic Party Youth President and Political Analyst in Chief Minister’s Office, Waheed Ur Rehman Parra, on Thursday said that National conference has no issue to debate and they are creating ruckus without any prior information about the NFSA.

“NFSA will cover 22.73 Lakh families comprising of a population of 119.13 Lakh souls and they will be covered under subsidized rations in the state,” he said in a statement.

Para said, “it will bring guarantee right to food to every individual of the state and will bring transparency.  The Consumer affairs and public distribution department is liable to be prosecuted in case of failure to provide ration as the people now have the right to food.”

He further added that government is duty bound to provide food to deserving people. “It is a major achievement that the government’s decision to disburse ration as per the 2011 Census, which was earlier being provided to people according to 2001 Census, as the move will benefit lakhs of new beneficiaries.”

Terming the act as “people friendly and in the interest of the people of the state”, he said, “till now, the government was providing ration to only 99.47 Lakh people as per the projected population of the state during the 2001 census, but now it will cover a population of 119.13 Lakh souls and will benefit lakhs of new beneficiaries.”

Para also welcomed criticism of socio-religious organizations, but also suggested them to “check the facts of the NFSA”, the statement said. “Every person has his own right to criticize. Their criticism is also welcome, but they should first check the facts of the act and should not fell trap to National Conference.”
