SRINAGAR: Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, has once again recorded the season’s lowest temperature at -2.1°C, while Shopian in South Kashmir remained the coldest place at -5.5°C.
The Meteorological Department reported the minimum temperatures across the region. Srinagar’s low of -2.1°C marks the season’s lowest temperature so far, matching a similar reading on 28 November.
Shopian recorded the coldest temperature in Kashmir at -5.5°C. Pahalgam, a popular tourist destination, registered a low of -5.3°C, while Gulmarg, a renowned ski resort, recorded -3.6°C.
Meanwhile, Qazigund, the gateway to Kashmir, reported a low of -2.7°C, and Kupwara in North Kashmir recorded -2.5°C. Kokernag, in South Kashmir, registered a minimum temperature of -1.4°C.
Notably, the Meteorological Department has forecast no significant weather changes until 15 December. Dry weather is expected to prevail until at least 7 December. (KNO)
