SRINAGAR: A joint delegation of graduate engineers from the Jammu Kashmir Civil Engineering Graduates Association (JKCEGA) and the Jammu Kashmir Mechanical Engineering Graduates Association (JKMEGA) met Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in Srinagar today.

The delegation raised several pending service-related issues, including the implementation and issuance of the SRO for the Assured Career Progression (ACP) scheme for engineers.
In the meeting with the Chief Minister, the delegation said that the implementation of the ACP scheme is necessary to address stagnation in the engineering cadre, which they said is due to limited sanctioned posts at senior levels such as Executive Engineer, Superintending Engineer, and Chief Engineer.
They urged the Chief Minister to expedite the implementation of the scheme, stating it would provide a structured path for career progression and improve administrative functioning and service delivery.
The delegation also sought a review of the engineering cadre in the Jal Shakti Department, covering both civil and mechanical streams, and called for the filling of vacant posts through recruitment and regular placements.
The delegation acknowledged the presence of Advisor to the Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani, and noted his assurance of support and commitment to address the demands raised.
