Two days after Government of India (GOI) assured to resolve Kashmir issue under the ‘ambit of Humanity’ and to hold peace talks with Pakistan, separatist camp here has been invited to New Delhi ahead of the foreign secretary level talks between India and Pakistan.

According to the KNS reports, the separatist leadership here including Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has been invited to Pakistan High Commission at New Delhi on August 19.

Mirwaiz when contacted confirmed the reports stating that he received the call on August 10 by the Pak high commissioner Abdul Basit and he has been invited to New Delhi to hold meeting with the Pak officials ahead of the foreign secretary level talks between India and Pakistan.

Mirwaiz while welcoming the move stated that Pakistan wants feedback from Kashmir’s resistance camp about the ground situation of Kashmir before it could hold talks with Indian government over the issue.

Hurriyat (M) chairman said that on August 19, he will visit New Delhi to attend the vital meet.  He added that the foreign secretary level talks between India and Pakistan is a welcome step and that both the countries must come forward so that the core issue is addressed sans any further delay in accordance to the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Geelani has, according to reports, received the telephonic invitation by Pak high commissioner Abdul Basit. The Hurriyat veteran has been invited to attend the meeting on August 19. However, Hurriyat Conference (G) spokesperson Ayaz Akbar said that no final decision has been made whether to take part in the meeting or not. He said that the conglomerate will take the final call over the issue after the consultations.

Hurriyat Conference JK senior leader Shabir Ahmad Shah said that he has received the invitation from Pakistan high commissioner and he has been invited to New Delhi on August 18.
