Srinagar

Government has directed telecom companies to block Internet services later tonight to prevent ‘online pro-freedom protests” called by the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL), reports quoting sources said on Monday afternoon.

JRL has called upon netizens to launch “Kashmir awareness campaign” on social media tonight in the wake of Hafat-e-Shuhuda.

Mobile Internet and Broadband services were restored across Kashmir valley on Sunday after being snapped on the eve of maiden death anniversary of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani.

Wani was killed on July 8 last year in a gunfight with government forces last year.
