The scheme aims to strengthen the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) ecosystem in the region. To promote awareness and implementation, the Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO) conducted the second district-level workshop at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Reasi on Wednesday.

The event was held under the guidance of Commissioner Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Vikramjit Singh, and JKTPO Managing Director, Sudarshan Kumar. It was organised in collaboration with the Grant Thornton-led State Project Implementation Unit (SPIU) and the District Industries Centre (DIC) Reasi.

Kishor Singh Karoch, General Manager of DIC Reasi, addressed the participants, emphasising the importance of MSMEs in local economic growth. He urged stakeholders to take full advantage of the RAMP scheme to enhance productivity, expand market access, and build stronger institutional linkages.

The SPIU team provided a detailed presentation on the key interventions under RAMP, including the formalisation of MSMEs through Udyam Registration, as well as the promotion of GI-tagged, ODOP, DEH, and other regional products. The presentation also outlined plans for cluster development, the formation of producer companies, and events such as Buyer-Seller Meets (BSMs) and Reverse Buyer-Seller Meets (RBSMs). The launch of the J&K MSMEs Health Clinic was also highlighted.

Key initiatives under RAMP include a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Dashboard, Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programmes (ESDPs), and Management Development Programmes (MDPs). Special attention was given to promoting digital financing solutions, aimed at enhancing the financial resilience of MSMEs across the region.

The workshop saw participation from MSME entrepreneurs, officials from the Industries and Commerce Department, ITI Reasi students, and financial institution representatives. SPIU consultants addressed queries from the attendees and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to effective implementation of the scheme at the grassroots level.

This workshop is part of a series of outreach efforts aimed at building awareness and capacity among MSMEs and stakeholders across Jammu and Kashmir under the Rs 6,062.45 crore national RAMP programme, supported by the World Bank and the Government of India.
