SRINAGAR: The Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri Mohammad Hafiz has initiated strong disciplinary action after major irregularities surfaced during surprise inspections conducted in several government schools.
According to official details, during an unannounced visit to Primary School Dhanore Jarallan, the CEO found two teachers Nazia Tabassum (3rd Teacher) and Zohra Jabeen (Teacher) unauthorisedly absent from duty. Both teachers were subsequently placed under suspension.
In the interest of students, the suspended teachers have been temporarily attached to other institutions: Nazia Tabassum to Middle School Tanoni, Rajouri, and Zohra Jabeen to Middle School Aitti, Rajouri.
In another inspection at Middle School Dhanore Gorsian, three more teachers Nazia Kouser (3rd Teacher), Zubair Ahmed (Teacher Grade-II), and Sukesh Kumar (RRET) were also found absent without authorisation. These teachers have similarly been suspended and detailed for duties at other schools.
As per the order, Nazia Kouser has been attached to Middle School Mehra, Rajouri, while Zubair Ahmed and Sukesh Kumar have been sent to Primary School Hill Kotlan, Peeri.
Taking a stern view of supervisory negligence, the CEO issued a show-cause notice to Khalida Parveen, Head of Institution (HOI) of Middle School Dhanore Gorsian, directing her to explain within two days why disciplinary action under the Jammu Kashmir Civil Services (CCA) Rules, 1956 should not be initiated against her.
Similarly, Mohd Riaz, HOI of Middle School Kheora, has been attached to the office of the Zonal Education Officer, Khawas, for further duties. He too has been asked to submit an explanation within two days. The CEO cautioned that failure to respond will be treated as having no defence, leading to strict action under rules.
The CEO Rajouri emphasised that the inspection drive will continue in the coming days to ensure accountability, punctuality, and a stronger work culture across government schools in the district. (KNC)
