SRINAGAR: The High Court of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh has promoted 11 Civil Judges (Junior Division) to the rank of Civil Judges (Senior Division) on an ad hoc basis, according to an order issued by the Registrar General on October 10.
The promotions were approved after consideration of the officers’ comparative seniority, vigilance reports and performance, in accordance with Rule 7 of the Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh Judicial Service Rules, 2025, notified on June 20, 2025, under Government Order S.O. 173.
The officers promoted are Rohit Sharma, Rashi Verma, Shilpa Dogra, Poonam Gupta, Neena Thakur, Shayesta Nazir, Shahber Ayaz, Bazila Bashir, Danishta Shafi, Himani Parihar and Shafiq Mushtaq Lone.
The order clarifies that the promotions are temporary and will not confer any right to regular promotion or a claim to seniority on a regular basis.
It further states that the officers may be reverted to the cadre of Civil Judges (Junior Division) if sufficient posts are not available for their regular promotion.
The High Court has also directed that the promoted officers continue to serve at their respective places of posting until formal orders regarding their adjustment are issued.
