SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir police arrested three drug peddlers in Kupwara, Sopore, and Kulgam, recovering significant quantities of contraband substances.
At Drugmulla Market checkpoint, police from Police Post Drugmulla intercepted Shahrukh Shafi Mir, son of Mohammad Shafi Mir, a resident of Kupwara. A search led to the recovery of a substantial quantity of charas-like substance. He was arrested on the spot.
In Sopore, police at a checkpoint near Chinar Crossing, Warpora, apprehended Ghulam Hassan Dar, son of Ghulam Mohiuddin Dar, from Mohalla Teliyan Arampora. Charas-like substance was recovered from his possession during the search.
In Kulgam, police from Police Post Mirbazar intercepted Farooq Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Ahmad Mir, resident of Zadoora, near Furrah railway track. A search recovered 1.19 kg of poppy straw-like substance.
Cases under relevant legal provisions have been registered at respective police stations, and investigations are underway. Authorities are working to trace the source of the contraband and any links to wider narcotics networks in the region.
