SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday attached properties belonging to three notorious drug peddlers in Awantipora, officials said.
Two single-storey residential houses, valued at around Rs 18 lakh, were attached from Muzaffar Ahmad Shalla, son of Gull Mohammad Shalla, of Karewa Jablipora, Bijbehara, and Javid Ahmad Ganie, son-in-law of the late Ali Mohammad Rather, of Gund Baba Khalil, Naina Sangam. Investigations revealed that the properties were acquired through proceeds from the sale of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. Both individuals are also involved in multiple FIRs and are currently in judicial custody at District Sub Jail Pulwama. The attachments were carried out under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, 1985, following inquiries conducted by SHO Police Station Pampore under the supervision of SDPO Pampore.
In a separate action, Jammu and Kashmir Police attached a double-storey residential house valued at approximately Rs 73 lakh belonging to Fareeda Akhter, daughter of Gh Rasool Shah of Larkipora. The property was identified as illegally acquired through drug trafficking during an inquiry led by SHO Police Station Awantipora under SDPO Awantipora. Fareeda Akhter is also named in multiple FIRs.
Officials said these measures demonstrate Jammu and Kashmir Police’s ongoing commitment to dismantling drug networks and taking strict action against individuals involved in narcotics trade.
