Kashmir Doctors Appeal for Emergency Transport for Healthcare Workers Amid Heavy Snowfall

   

SRINAGAR: The Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) has called on the administration to arrange emergency transport services for healthcare workers as heavy snowfall disrupts normal life in the region. Highlighting the indispensable role of medical staff in maintaining critical healthcare services during such crises, the association stressed the urgency of coordinated efforts.

Dr MY Tak, the DAK President, underscored the importance of uninterrupted hospital operations. “Patient care is our top priority. We appeal to the administration to liaise with health officials to arrange transport for healthcare workers, ensuring that hospitals remain accessible despite the harsh weather,” he said.

The association also urged doctors currently on duty to remain at their posts until their replacements arrive, ensuring seamless care for patients. Dr Owais H Dar, DAK General Secretary, expressed admiration for the resilience of healthcare professionals and called for continued dedication. “Our colleagues are the backbone of the healthcare system, particularly during crises. By staying at their posts until relieved, they exemplify our commitment to serving the community,” he said.

Dr Masood Rashid, President of the Society of Chest Diseases and a DAK executive member, emphasised the dual responsibility of healthcare workers and the public during this period. “Despite the challenges posed by heavy snowfall, our duty to patients remains steadfast. We also urge the public to cooperate by following safety measures to prevent avoidable emergencies,” he said.

The DAK reiterated its support for healthcare professionals and its dedication to ensuring quality patient care during these challenging conditions.
