SRINAGAR: The University of Kashmir lost another young teacher, Dr Mustahason Farooq Fazili, 55.

Fazli was teaching Zoology at the University of Kashmir. Basically from Bandipore, he was living in Gulbarg Colony in uptown Srinagar. He was an associate professor. He served the university for around 18 years, family sources said.

Dr Mustahson Farooq Fazli, an Associate Professor in Zoology at the University of Kashmir died of Covid19 after losing his battle against contagion after a month.

Family sources said that Fazli contracted Covid19 and it spread to three families within the relations. All of his relatives managed to fight the contagion but he somehow landed in some complicacy. He remained on a ventilator for a fortnight and lost his battle today. He actually was inflicted by Covid19, more than a month back and the complicacy came almost a fortnight after the infection.

Dr Fazli is survived by his wife, who has retired from the education department and they have three children – two daughters who are studying medicine in Iran and a son who is also studying medicine in Bangladesh. For the last more than a month, his son was taking care of him as his daughters are in Bangladesh.

This is the second faculty member of the University of Kashmir who died of Covid19. Only two days back, Prof Ghulam Mohiuddin Bhat died of the contagion. He was the only Kashmir innovator having two patents.
