Asserting that Law and Order is the prime duty of J&K Police organization, the Minister of state for Home, industries and commerce, Sajad Ahmad Kichloo Saturday asked the organization to be more pro-people and provide adequate safe-guards to the life and property of the masses.
Speaking at a meeting of the police officers, on the last leg of his three days tour to the district Doda, Kichloo said that J&K police organization has an important role to contribute in reconstruction of state which has passed through a long turbulent and traumatic period. He hoped that the organization would rise to the occasion and come up to the expectations of the people, who have pinned high hopes with the present dispensation.
“Holding Police-Public interactions, Civic action programmes and people friendly CBM’s will go a long to maintain better relations between the two,” said Kichloo.
While lauding the role of J&K Police in anti-insurgency operations, Kichloo said that the J&K police personnel have offered supreme sacrifices of their lives and attained martyrdom to save and protect the life and property of the people. He said the belt force will be further modernized to make it one of the effective and model forces of the country.
Earlier the Minister made a round of Doda city and took stock of the availability of essential commodities besides civic amenities to the people. He also visited Doda youth club and Police-Public Gym setup in the city and interacted with the youth and senior citizens.
While returning to Jammu, Kichloo met several deputations and took stock of the problems and demands of the people. He assured the people that all their genuine grievances will be addressed, adding that the welfare and upliftment of the people of the state is the main agenda of the present coalition government headed by Chief-Minister, Omar Abdullah. He also inspected Police Station therein and interacted with officers and jawans. He enquired about the facilities available to the police jawans adding that better working conditions for police force is one of the priorities of the government.
