Due to alleged negligence of doctors, a pregnant lady delivered a dead baby in the wash room of a hospital in South Kashmir’s Islamabad district.

Reports said that Ruqiya Banoo wife of Muhamamd Akhtar, a resident of Hallan Verinag was admitted in Maternity Child Care Hospital (MCCH) Islamabad. “At around 5 on Wednesday morning, my daughter developed severe pain. Despite my repeated requests to the Para-medical staff present in the Labour Ward, nobody bothered to take care of Patient. They informed me that all the doctors are asleep and can’t attend the patient this time,” the mother of the patient said.

She said that pain was unbearable and Ruqiya in a bid to relieve herself, rushed towards washroom where she delivered a ‘dead’ baby. The attendants and family members of the patient staged a protest outside the hospital demanding action against the negligent doctors.

In Charge Medical Superintendent MCCH, Dr Mirab told CNS that he will look into the matter. “Day and night doctors remain available in the hospital. I don’t think it is the case of negligence, yet I will look into the matter,” he said.
