J&K police have recovered a body from river Jehlum at Sheikh Zoo, which was later identified as Mohammad Altaf Sofi son of Mohammad Ismail Sofi resident of Nundergund Peerbagh, Srinagar.
“The deceased was missing from 21st of March-2016 from his home in Srinagar. After completion of legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites,” the J&K Police spokesperson said Sunday evening.
Meanwhile, three residential houses were damaged in a fire incident in Kulgam.
Fire broke out in the residential house of Bashir Ahmad Naik resident of Chimmer, D H Pora, which later engulfed two other adjacent houses of Bashir Ahmad Wagay, Rehman Wagay and Ghulam Hassan Naik, resulting in damage to all the structures.
Fire tenders brought fire under control with the help of police and locals. During the extinguishing of fire one person Altaf Ahmad Tantray resident of Chimmer got injured. The injured was shifted to Sub District Hospital D H Pora for treatment.
