JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) reaffirmed its commitment to youth empowerment and development during a joining programme held at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan, Jammu. The event, organised under the leadership of Tejinder Pal Singh Aman, District President Jammu Urban JKNC, saw several young individuals inducted into the party, reflecting growing support for the party’s vision.
Former minister and Additional General Secretary Ajay Kumar Sadhotra welcomed the new members, emphasising the National Conference’s steadfast focus on creating opportunities for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. “The National Conference Government has always prioritised empowering the younger generation by creating avenues for their growth and success,” Sadhotra said, adding that such initiatives are critical for ensuring a prosperous future.
Rattan Lal Gupta, the Provincial President of JKNC Jammu, highlighted the importance of comprehensive tourism development in tackling unemployment. He noted that promoting the region’s cultural heritage could generate employment opportunities for young people while boosting the local economy. Gupta also reiterated the National Conference’s manifesto pledge to provide one lakh jobs in Jammu and Kashmir, stating that steps had already been taken to expedite recruitment processes across government departments.
In addition to youth initiatives, Gupta underscored the party’s dedication to empowering women through entrepreneurship. He advocated for incentives to help local women establish small-scale businesses within their homes, enabling them to contribute to their families and the economy.
Provincial Secretary Sheikh Bashir Ahmad called upon the newly inducted members to strengthen the party by supporting Dr Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s leadership. He urged them to actively engage with the party’s mission to address the aspirations of the people.
The programme also included organisational announcements, with Sardar Tejinder Pal Singh appointing new leaders to key positions within the Jammu Urban Youth National Conference.
Those who joined the party fold included individuals from diverse backgrounds, such as Farooq Ahmad, Yaseen Malik, Dawood Naik, Ishfaq Ahmed, and several others. The event concluded with enthusiastic support from the newly inducted youth, who pledged their commitment to the National Conference’s mission of progress and development in Jammu and Kashmir.
