SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday praised the youth of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh for their resilience, courage, and hard work while also cautioning against premature predictions regarding the Delhi Assembly elections.
Addressing National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets who participated in the Republic Day 2025 parade at Kartavya Path in New Delhi, Omar lauded their commitment despite immense academic pressures. “The pressure on you is far more than what we faced. Earlier, the marking system was lenient, but now the cut-off in many colleges is 100 per cent. Sometimes, I wonder what more can be achieved beyond 100 per cent,” he said.
He commended the cadets for their decision to join the NCC and represent the “unity in diversity” of Jammu and Kashmir. “You build relationships not just among yourselves but also with youth from across the country. Trust me, these bonds will last a lifetime,” he added.
On the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, Omar urged caution against hasty predictions. “People have not yet voted. Let the results come first, and then we can begin the analysis,” he told reporters in Jammu. However, he acknowledged the possibility of a repeat of the last election, stating, “There is a probability that AAP could wipe out all other parties again.”
