Terming the issuance of passport to Syed Ali Geelani as a humanitarian issue, Peoples’ Conference (PC) led by Sajad Gani Lone Wednesday said the octogenarian must be allowed to visit his ailing daughter at an earliest.
“It is not a political but purely a humanitarian issue. Syed Ali Geelani and his family should be given the permission for visiting Jeddah. No one should have any objection over any person visiting his/ her family. How could such an issue be painted with the political brush,” PC’s senior leader and Legislator from Kupwara Bashir Ahmad Dar told KNS.
He added that the senior separatist leader is not visiting Jeddah for any political purpose but purely his visit is going to be a personal one. “We believe that Geelani Sahib should be accorded the travel document so that he along with his family could visit his daughter,” opined the PC leader.
