Police Attach Residential Property in NDPS Case

   

SRINAGAR: Police in Pulwama have attached a residential property worth several lakhs of rupees in connection with a narcotics case, as part of an intensified drive to curb drug trafficking and dismantle its financial networks, officials said on Tuesday.

According to police, the action was carried out by the Special Investigation Team NDPS Pulwama, which attached a single-storied residential house located in the Karimabad area of Pulwama district. The property stands on land bearing Khasra number 1735 Min under Abad-i-Deh, Khewat number 485 and Khata number 992.

Officials said the property belongs to Fayaz Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Nabi Mir, a resident of Karimabad, Pulwama. Investigations revealed that the house was allegedly acquired through proceeds generated from narcotics trafficking.

The attachment was carried out under Section 68 F sub section one read with Chapter VA of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, following an order issued by the competent authority vide order number 01 of 2026 dated January 13, 2026.

Police said the accused is involved in FIR number 248 of 2025 and FIR number 39 of 2025, both registered at Police Station Pulwama under Sections 8 and 20 of the NDPS Act, indicating continued involvement in drug related illegal activities.

Police reiterated their resolve to act firmly against the drug menace and said stringent legal action would continue against those involved in narcotics trafficking, including the attachment of properties acquired through illicit means.
