India Today reported the explosives were concealed in urea fertiliser sacks, with the interception at Barauni police station limits following a tip-off about transport from Bundi to Tonk. The Federal noted the haul’s potential for improvised explosive devices (IEDs), echoing the Delhi Red Fort blast’s use of ammonium nitrate-fuel oil (ANFO).

The District Special Team (DST), led by in-charge Om Prakash, acted on intelligence to set up a roadblock, recovering the contraband from suspects Surendra Patwa (48) and Surendra Mochi (35), both from Karwar in Bundi district. Times of India detailed the car’s diversion towards Bundi when stopped, with police probing illegal mining links or terror intent. NDTV confirmed around six bundles of fuse wire and batteries, heightening concerns over the material’s dual-use in blasts.

Tonk Deputy Superintendent Mritunjay Mishra told The Indian Express the operation exemplified vigilant checks, with intelligence agencies alerted to trace the supply chain. Hindustan Times reported the arrests during routine barricading on NH-52, underscoring heightened security amid festive risks.
