According to AJEL.SA, Abdul Aziz Al-Mutahmi, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Digital Transformation, said the updated system—branded “Nusk Al-Umrah” is designed to consolidate key services into a single, user-friendly platform. Speaking to Al-Ekhbariya channel, he said the card would “facilitate a number of direct services for pilgrims”.
The card provides access to transportation services, crowd-management systems, bus refuelling support, accommodation information and scheduled transfers, alongside other essential logistical services. Officials say the initiative aims to make the pilgrimage process more efficient and organised, improving safety and movement within key sites.
Domestic pilgrims will be able to use the digital version via mobile devices, while international visitors will receive the printed card upon arrival, ensuring accessibility for all users regardless of technological familiarity.
The launch of “Nusk Al-Umrah” is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader digital transformation agenda, intended to modernise and simplify the pilgrimage experience for millions of worshippers each year.
According to the report in Arab News, in 2024 more than 18.5 million pilgrims and Umrah performers arrived from abroad, including 16.92 million Umrah performers, exceeding the year’s targets.
