SRINAGAR: The State Bank of India (SBI) has announced the opening of applications for the position of Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) in the clerical cadre, specifically under a Special Recruitment Drive for Ladakh Union Territory (UT), including Leh and Kargil Valley.
Eligible citizens who meet the required criteria can apply for the vacancies. Applicants are reminded that they may only appear for the test once under this recruitment project. A key requirement for this recruitment is proficiency in one of the specified local languages of the Ladakh UT, including Urdu, Ladakhi, and Bhoti (Bodhi).
The selection process will include a test for knowledge of the chosen local language, which will be conducted after the successful completion of the online Main examination but before joining the bank. Candidates who fail the language proficiency test will not be offered an appointment. However, candidates who can produce a 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/certificate showing that they have studied the local language will be exempt from the test.
The Preliminary Examination for this recruitment is tentatively scheduled for January 2025, with the Main Examination expected to take place in February 2025. Candidates are encouraged to regularly check the SBI website for updates and further details on the application process.
The recruitment is for a total of 50 vacancies, distributed across different categories, including SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and General categories. There is also reservation for PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) and ESM (Ex-Servicemen), with specific categories outlined. Candidates must opt for one of the specified local languages at the time of applying.
Candidates must be between 20 to 28 years of age as of April 1, 2024. Age relaxation is available for candidates from reserved categories, as well as for PwBD and Ex-Servicemen. Applicants must have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government of India, with proof of graduation required by December 31, 2024.
Candidates are required to apply online through the official SBI recruitment portal. The application process includes filling in personal details, selecting the local language for the proficiency test, and uploading necessary documents. No change in category or language preference will be allowed after the submission of the application.
Candidates from the OBC category must submit an OBC certificate with the “Non-Creamy Layer” clause. Additionally, those applying under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category need to provide an Income and Asset Certificate. Specific guidelines apply for candidates with benchmark disabilities, and relevant certificates must be submitted during document verification.
