SRINAGAR: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Kashmir has filed a chargesheet against two residents of Bandipora for allegedly securing illegal extensions in government service and obtaining undue financial benefits through forged documents and manipulated dates of birth, resulting in losses to the State exchequer.
According to an official statement, the EOW Kashmir of the Crime Branch JK filed a chargesheet in FIR No. 05/2026 under Sections 420, 468 and 471 of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC) before the Court of Judicial Magistrate 1st Class, Sumbal.
The chargesheet names Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, son of Mohammad Jawad Bhat, and Assadullah Bhat, son of Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bhat, both residents of Rakhi Shilwat in Sumbal area of Bandipora district.

The EOW Kashmir has urged members of the public to remain vigilant against economic fraud and report such offences to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Economic Offences Wing, Kashmir, Crime Branch JK.
