SRINAGAR: A scientist from Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) has been awarded the “IAUA Outstanding PhD Thesis Research Award 2025,” a national-level recognition for excellence in doctoral research.

The award has been conferred on Dr Naila Majid, Assistant Professor at SKUAST-K’s Faculty of Fisheries, Rangil, in the Social Sciences category by the Indian Agricultural Universities Association (IAUA). The honour carries a citation and a cash award of Rs 50,000.
The IAUA award is a competitive national distinction aimed at recognising original and impactful doctoral research that contributes to agricultural development and scientific advancement. Dr Naila’s research was acknowledged within the discipline of Fisheries Extension, based on her doctoral work conducted at the ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE), Mumbai.
Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-K, Prof Nazir Ahmad Ganai, congratulated Dr Naila on the achievement. He commended the consistent efforts of the university’s faculty members in advancing scientific research and bringing recognition to the institution through academic excellence.
