Speaking on the occasion, SDPO Kangan SP Muzaffar Jan appreciated the initiative taken by members of the RTI Movement and Koshish, who have been supporting the members of the JK Blind Welfare Trust. He expressed that the JK Police would be happy to support such initiatives for persons with disabilities in the future.

Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir RTI Movement, Dr Raja Muzaffar Bhat, who was also present, emphasised that persons with disabilities often experience mental depression, and there is an urgent need to involve them in various recreational activities.

“Visually challenged youth playing cricket, especially on snow, may seem unimaginable, but we are making it happen, and it is possible. We need to be optimistic and must support visually challenged individuals, involving them in various activities to prevent mental depression. Today’s cricket match and outing in Sonamarg are part of this program,” said Raja Muzaffar, who is also the Patron of the JK Blind Welfare Trust.

Chairman of the JK Blind Welfare Trust, Showkat Ahmad Lone, and General Secretary Shafat Sofi extended their gratitude to SDPO Kangan SP Muzaffar Jan, Chairman of Birla Open Minds School Pampore, GM Lone, Principal Dr Mehnaz, and the management of Snowland Hotel for their support.
