SRINAGAR: Police in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have recovered a minor girl and arrested the accused within 24 hours of a kidnapping complaint being registered, officials said on Tuesday.
According to police, a written complaint was received at Police Station Pulwama regarding the kidnapping of a 16-year-old girl following which FIR No. 111/2026 was registered and investigation launched without delay.
Special police teams were constituted to trace the victim, and sustained investigative efforts along with technical support led to the recovery of the girl within a day of the incident being reported. The accused involved in the case was also apprehended.
Police said further investigation is underway.
Officials stated that the swift action reflects the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of women and children in the region.
