Liberation Front started the militancy. Its goal was to liberate Jammu and Kashmir from Indian military occupation. But it had an ideological objective to propagate irreligious and secular political beliefs among Kashmiri people as well.”
These words from Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani’s second volume of autobiography “Wular Kinaray” have irked JKLF and it has triggered a war between Geelani and JKLF.

The JKLF has accused Geelani of distortion of Kashmir’s history in his autobiography and is now going to publish a counter pamphlet to ‘put the records straight.’ The separatist leaders have been resisting each other since years now. Be it the UN resolutions on Kashmir or the bilateral dialogue, the pro-freedom leaders have a contrary attitude, thinking and policy.
Geelani, before alleging JKLF of propagating irreligious political ideology, quotes a statement of the pro-independence party from “Ahad Nama-e-Kashmir” of Late Khwaja Suna Ullah Bhat. The statement was issued by JKLF in the wake of the incident which took place on June 9, 1989 in Jamia Masjid Srinagar. “…… claiming themselves as Islamists, these people in fact want to spread confusion and chaos……people exhibiting as Islamists and anti-India were not ready to support us except Abdul Gani Lone….,” reads the statement.
JKLF has objected to the description given about the formation of Muslim United Front (MUF) in ‘Wular Kinaray.’ MUF was formed after 1987 elections in which the amalgam of socio-political parties of Kashmir bagged four seats including Sopore from where Geelani was elected. JKLF chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik was the polling agent of Mohammad Yousuf Shah (Syed Salah-u-din), who was contesting from Amira Kadel constituency. Three out of four MUF members resigned later when militancy erupted. Geelani and Malik are the witnesses of the events happened within MUF during the period of its formation and ‘death’. However, ‘Wular Kinaray’s’ second volume is full of glaring mistakes which reflect poorly on its credibility. Geelani says he told Sheikh Abdullah that J&K assembly should pass a condolence resolution on the demise of Syed Abul Ala Maududi as it did when Iran’s Imam Khomeini died. It’s another thing that Khomeini died much after Maududi. But the book in its holistic perspective is a good read.
Geelani and Malik were part of united Hurriyat Conference for years together where the former was representing Jamaat-e-Islami, the largest social political party of Kashmir. Hurriyat however broke into two factions in 2002. JKLF opted to work independently while as Geelani and Mirwaiz are heading separate groups of Hurriyat Conference.

Sartaj hamara Geelani
JKLF chairman M Yaseen Malik may have Islamic thoughts in possession but he sometimes uses hunger strike as a tool to protest against the Indian occupatation of kashmir, which is UnIslamic. He also demands Independent kashmir & neglects the creation of Ummah or Islamic state which is the need of the hour.
In 24 years of struggle most of the NC deligates were sheltered by JkLF,even for a few years JkLF was considered as the armed wing of NC.with the passage of time, these NC deligates decieved JKLF indulged in their normal work.
I remember the days when JKLF militents were celibrating the victory of Indian cricket team.
Now-a-days Geelani is opposing the construction of concrete road upto Amernath shrine,as it is a step towards environmental destruction & ecological imbalance, where is JKLF.If the killing of dogs is animal rights voilation, how cutting of three thousand trees can be justified.
yaseen sahib worked under banner of islamic students leauge &yousuf sahib. He became secular cum nationlist under preasure of amman khan beacuse of his idealogy.jklf are deep rooted in london. It is their stand to be more wealthy in britian &euroup. no care from islamic world.majorty of mirpuri migrants are supporting jklf . they want to stay there to fullfill their motives both physically and mently.
this demonstrates the real face of our separatists. instead of engaging themselves in the process of solving Kashmir issue, they have involved themselves in muckraking, and washing the dirty linen in the public.
these self proclaimed leaders are the real culprits.
