A three-week long general orientation course for Assistant Professors was organised by the Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) in collaboration with the Jammu University’s Department of Urdu, here today.

Dean Academic Affairs, Prof Keshav Sharma, Director Information Department, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar besides Director HRDC, Professor Rahul Gupta, Dean Urdu Department, Shohab Anayat Malik, Assistant Director HRDC, Ranjeet Kalra and Assistant Professors of various subjects from different parts of the country were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar said that teachers are the builders of a nation so it becomes their prime responsibility to impart quality education to students and ensure their holistic development.

“Teachers must regularly update their knowledge and expertise in and utilize their skills for ensuring a bright future for their students “, she maintained.

Dr Asgar said that prioritization and time management of the task is key to success for everyone to reach their set goals. She urged the teachers to educate the students about contemporary issues in order to develop a better understanding of national and international affairs.

Prof. Keshav Sharma, in his address, stressed on regular updating of learning and teaching skills to keep pace with the fast-changing concepts and technology. He asked the teachers to serve the society with the utmost care and concern as the onus of creating an accomplished society lies on their shoulders.

He also exhorted upon the teachers to be role models for their students as it is their conduct, character and commitment that shall deeply reflect upon them in their academic pursuits.
