SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Police are being praised by one and all for the swift investigation of the enigmatic murder case of Tanveera, a housewife in Bemina. The interesting part of the investigation is that they have arrested a relative of the slain lady who was apparently out of suspicion.
“We are so thankful to the police for the meticulous investigation,” one of the relatives of the slain lady said. “We never thought that the people arrested were involved.”
Tanveera was running some conjugal dispute with her husband Showkat Ahmad Kaloo, a resident of Nundresh Colony B. They had been separated for many years. When her body was recovered from Durbal on October 17, the area came out in protest against Kaloo.
“As the detailed investigation followed by the team headed by SDPO West and assisted by SHO PS Bemina, it was established that the aforementioned woman was murdered on October 16, 2023, at West End Colony, Hyderpora, and subsequently, her dead body was shifted from Hyderpora to Durbal Bemina to divert the investigation agency,” officials told reporters.
Based on the investigations, the police – within five days of the murder, arrested
Abina Parveez (sister-in-law of the deceased) W/o Parveez Ahmad Shah R/o West End Colony, Hyderpora; and her parents Ghulam Mohammad Ahanger S/o Late Haji Ghulam Hussain Ahanger R/o Khushipora HMT a/p Gulposh Apartment Bemina and Jala Wadoo W/o Ghulam Mohammad Ahanger R/o Khushipora HMT a/p Gulposh Apartment Bemina. Abida’s daughter, a minor, is also reported to be involved in the murder.
Parveez is the brother of the slain lady.
The arrests and the initial outcome of the investigations have shocked everybody including the family of the slain lady. Nobody has the details except that Tanveera was last seen by Abida at her residence.
Interestingly, Abida was part of the mourners when the police handed over the body to the family after registering the case. Police are getting pares from everywhere for a swift probe, the outcome of which was diagonally opposite of the people’s perception. The motive for the killing is still not known.
