While preparing grounds for the coming up elections, the National Conference today said that party will strongly advocate the restoration of Autonomy as it remains the bedrock of its policy and agenda adding that the sacrifices given by the leadership of the party right from 1953 will bear fruition and the party will strive to ensure that the autonomy report is implemented.

Addressing a convention at Wachi in south Kashmir provincial president of Kashmir Nasir Aslam Wani tuesday amidst a huge applaud said, “You should keep this passion and sentiment alive because now the time for the test is coming. This is the time you have to make this party strong as 2014 is the election year,” adding “I have no doubt that you, the people of Wachi will give a befitting reply to our adversaries and expose their false propaganda”, Nasir told workers.

“NC is a vibrant force in all three regions and people have full faith in the leadership of Omar Abdullah”, said Nasir adding, “They know that only this party can and will ensure that the future of the people and the state remains protected.”

“I know your demand and expectations but I assure you that all the problems will be sorted out and your demands will be fulfilled. No work should happen without party workers” he said “We will go to every nook and corner of the valley and ensure that your problems are addressed on priority.”

Panchayat Minister Ali Mohd Sagar who was also present in the occasion said that under the young and dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah a new energy has been infused in the rank and cadres of the National Conference. “The workers and party office bearers are working selflessly as has been their trait since the inception of the party by the late Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and the enthusiasm of party workers to achieve holistic welfare and equitable development in a peaceful and conducive atmosphere is as strong and alive as it was ever”, he said showering praises on party workers for standing with the leadership of the party through the thick and thin and strengthening it at all levels.

Member Parliament and Central Secretary Kashmir Mehboob Beg in his address said, “The leadership of the party never cared for power but relinquished the seat of power for the public cause and state’s interest”, he said and asked the youth to go through the pages of the history. “You will find National Conference and its leadership epitome of struggle and sacrifices.” He said the red flag of the party denotes this sacrifice and the Plough of National Conference’s flag represents farmers and people associated with farming and allied sectors.

Social Welfare Minister Sakina Itoo, Mos Home Sajad Ahmed Kichloo, Minister Nazir Gurezi, MLC Showkat Ahmad and other senior leaders were also present in the occasion.
