SRINAGAR: At least 25 Palestinians were killed in Gaza on Tuesday, amid ongoing violence and humanitarian crisis. Seventeen people died from Israeli gunfire near a Gaza aid distribution site where displaced individuals had gathered, with dozens more injured. The casualties were rushed to hospitals in the Nuseirat camp and Gaza City. Later, an Israeli strike on a house in Deir al-Balah killed eight more people, raising the day’s death toll.

The Israeli military said it is investigating the incident and has warned Palestinians not to approach routes leading to the U.S.-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) aid sites during nighttime hours, describing these roads as closed military zones. Palestinians have reported chaotic and violent conditions at aid distribution points, with many walking long distances only to find food supplies exhausted within minutes.
This violence comes amid a prolonged blockade and military campaign by Israel following the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023. Since then, over 54,000 Palestinians, mostly civilians, have been killed in Gaza, which is home to 2.3 million people facing severe shortages of food and medical supplies. Aid allowed into Gaza is described by the UN as a “drop in the ocean,” with scenes of looting and desperation widespread.
The humanitarian situation remains dire, with tens of thousands of Palestinians risking their lives daily to access limited aid, while the conflict continues to claim lives and devastate the enclave
