SRINAGAR: In a rare gesture, a philanthropist donated a microscope worth Rs 17000 to  Government Girls Middle School Onagam in Bandipora. This will replace the defunct microscope that the school currently had.

Mohammad Azad Reshi, a lab technician, who heads the Private Diagnostic Centers  Association in the district donated the scientific apparatus as a goodwill gesture to the school wherein mostly children from underprivileged families are enrolled.

Reshi said that the idea of the donation came to him when the headmaster Javaid Jawad mentioned the defunct microscope in the school’s inventory.

Javaid Jawad,  a recipient of the Best Teacher Award for his performance in 2021, extended gratitude on behalf of his staff and students to Mohammad Azad Reshi for his gift and his understanding regarding the requirement of an essential tool in a scientific subject.

It is pertinent to mention that the school has shown a hundred per cent increase in its roll during the last four years due to improvement in its functioning.
