According to the department, the Spot Round will be conducted through two parallel streams. Courses with a substantial number of vacant seats have been placed under the Walk-in Admissions category, enabling eligible candidates to seek admission directly at the concerned colleges. The remaining programmes will be filled through Round-3 or Direct System Allotment on the Centralised Admission Portal based on Class 12 merit, candidate preferences, eligibility criteria and seat availability.

The department said fresh registration on the JK Admissions Portal for candidates who have not previously registered, along with submission of fresh college and programme preferences for Round-3 admissions, will remain open from June 23 to June 26.

The preference submission window will be available to fresh applicants, candidates seeking walk-in admissions and students already admitted in earlier rounds who wish to seek upgradation to another college or programme.

Walk-in admissions and document verification at colleges will be conducted from June 25 to July 2, subject to the availability of vacant seats. Candidates seeking admission through this category must first register on the Centralised Admission Portal before reporting to the respective colleges. Admission fees will have to be deposited online through the portal.

The Round-3 or Direct System Allotment list is scheduled to be published on June 29. Candidates allotted seats will be required to deposit admission fees online by July 1 and report to their allotted colleges for physical verification of original documents between June 29 and July 2.

The department said candidates who did not secure admission in previous rounds, those who failed to complete admission formalities after seat allotment, candidates seeking a change of college or programme, and applicants whose forms were rejected due to correctable deficiencies are eligible to participate in the Spot Round. However, candidates who voluntarily cancelled their confirmed admissions will not be eligible.

Fresh applicants must submit their applications online through the JK Admissions Portal and pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs 200. Candidates who have already applied earlier will not be required to submit a fresh application or pay any additional fee.

Students have also been advised to verify their mobile numbers and email addresses on the portal to ensure timely receipt of admission-related updates.

The Higher Education Department has established counselling and facilitation centres in Government Degree Colleges to assist candidates with form submission and preference filling. Students can also access information regarding courses and subject combinations through the Directorate of Colleges website.

Director Colleges J&K, Dr Sheikh Ajaz Bashir, urged all eligible candidates to make use of the Spot Round and complete admission formalities within the notified timelines. He also advised aspirants to regularly monitor the JK Admissions Portal and the official admissions WhatsApp channel for updates, notices, allotment lists and schedules.

The department further clarified that allotment of Minor, Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC), Multidisciplinary (MD) and other course components will be undertaken after the commencement of classwork as per the notified guidelines.
