SRINAGAR: The Government of Belgium has announced applications for the fully funded ARES Scholarship Programme for the academic year 2026–2027, offering international students from partner countries an opportunity to pursue development-focused studies.
The deadline to apply for the scholarship is September 19, 2025. The programme provides support for one specialised bachelor’s programme, ten specialised master’s programmes, and six continuing training courses. The master’s and bachelor’s programmes last one year, while the training courses run for six months.
The ARES scholarship covers round-trip international travel, living allowance, visa application fees, tuition fees, miscellaneous programme-related costs, and comprehensive insurance. These benefits are applicable primarily for the specialised bachelor’s and master’s degree courses, and continuing education courses.
To be eligible, applicants must be citizens, residents, and employees of one of the 31 ARES partner-eligible countries, hold a higher education diploma, and possess at least two years of relevant professional experience in a partner country.
The required documents include two recommendation letters (academic and/or professional), certified copies of diplomas and transcripts, proof of residence for the last five years, a certificate of nationality or copy of passport, and a pre-project proposal for certain courses, as specified in the course-specific conditions.
