Srinagar

Government on Friday disallowed congregational prayers at historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar as all the roads leading to the central Masjid were sealed to prevent protests against the killing of four civilians in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

Earlier, in the morning, government-imposed restrictions in areas falling under the jurisdiction of five police stations in Downtown Srinagar to thwart protests against the Kulgam killings.

Pertinently, Joint Resistance Leadership has called for “peaceful protests” after prayers today in order to express sympathy and solidarity with the family members of the youth killed by government forces in south Kashmir on Wednesday.
