Terming it a blatant violation of human rights, Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir Tuesday strongly condemned the brutal action by 14 RR army personnel on innocent people in Bandipora, leaving five persons injured severely, including two women.

“These kinds of atrocities are now common and a routine task by army in Kashmir,” said Jama’at spokesperson Advocate Zahid Ali in a statement. “During nocturnal raids, army and other forces ransack residential houses and beat inmates ruthlessly. Later when people protest against this inhuman and brutal action, they are reciprocated by the use of unjustified force by government forces.”

Jama’at said the administration has utterly failed to provide any solace to the victims of this “state-sponsored terrorism”.

“Even the people are not allowed to peacefully protest against this highhandedness of the Indian forces who have been given free license to kill, torture, harass, intimidate the innocent Kashmiris and cause damage to their person and property without any fear of being accounted for under any law.”

The spokesperson said such kinds of actions are quite contradictory to the claim of so-called democracy by the Indian rulers.

“Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir demands stern action against involved army personnel and urges human rights bodies to take serious note of the human rights violations occurred in Kashmir. Similarly Jama’at condemns the torture of two brother Shah Faesal and Imtiyaz Ahmad during a search and cordon action in Zachaldar Rajpora village in Kupwara district by 21 RR personnel along with police task force.”
