Optimistic for being in power in Jammu and Kashmir, the Bhartiya Janta Party is luring many big wigs that include the former bureaucrats, politicians and retired police officers who have good footings in their respective areas, KNS has learnt.

Reliable sources in BJP told KNS that the party big-wigs like J P Nadda, R P Singh, JK president Jugal Kishore and Avinash Rai Khanna have been in constant touch with senior leaders of various political parties in JK and also with the former police officers. The party leaders are in a process to strike a deal with many leaders including one of the separatist turned mainstream-politician.

Meanwhile, sources said that that the BJP is also looking for a Kashmir Pandit face for Habba Kadal constituency where Kashmiri Pandits hold a good vote share.

They said that the BJP high command has stressed to focus on ‘mission 44 plus’ seats from the state. “Keeping eye on the 44 seats from the state the party high command has asked some top leaders including some of the union ministers to closely monitor the political situation of Jammu and Kashmir in the coming days,” they said and added Prime Minister Nerendra Modi, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP President Amit Shah are expected to meet in couple of days to set the road map for Jammu and Kashmir before going to the Assembly elections.

Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) BJP MP Jugal Kishore said that if the BJP comes to power the party will focus on development of Jammu and Kashmir.

“BJP is committed to peace, progress and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir. The BJP wants developments in Jammu and Kashmir. The priority would be given to the unemployment youth and developments,” he said and added that the party would not discriminate on the basis of caste, creed, language and religion.
