SRINAGAR: Union Minister Jitendra Singh has filed his nomination papers for the Udhampur-Kathua Lok Sabha constituency in Jammu and Kashmir.

Accompanied by his wife and Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Singh filed his papers at the office of the Returning Officer in Kathua town.

He performed a puja earlier in the day and expressed gratitude for the support, aiming for a third consecutive win.

Singh highlighted the development in the region and sought the blessings of the people.

He was joined by wrestler-turned-politician The Great Khali and BJP J&K chief Ravinder Raina in a rally before filing his nomination.

The constituency, once a stronghold of the Congress, saw Singh defeating veteran Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad in 2014 and Congress candidate Vikram Aditya Singh in 2019 by significant margins.

With over 16.20 lakh registered voters, the Lok Sabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be conducted in five phases.
