Taking to social media platform X, the Chief Minister said, “Blackout in Jammu now. Sirens can be heard across the city.”

In a subsequent post, he added, “Intermittent sounds of blasts, probably heavy artillery, can now be heard from where I am.”

The remarks have heightened concern over the security situation along the International Border and Line of Control, with continued cross-border shelling and drone incursions reported over the past few days.

This marks the second consecutive night Jammu has been plunged into darkness, part of precautionary measures taken by authorities to minimise visibility in light of potential aerial threats.

Security agencies remain on high alert, and residents have been advised to follow official instructions and avoid spreading unverified information.
