SRINAGAR: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a Maharatna public sector undertaking and one of India’s Fortune 500 companies, has launched a major recruitment drive for multiple positions across its operations. The announcement brings fresh opportunities for candidates from Jammu and Kashmir, who are eligible to apply for all advertised posts, provided they meet the necessary qualifications and eligibility criteria.
The recruitment drive spans several domains critical to BPCL’s operations and future growth, including biofuels, consumer retailing, finance, human resources, information systems, legal affairs, medical services, renewables, and research and development. While the exact number of vacancies has not been disclosed in the official notification, the company has confirmed that the selection process will follow government reservation norms and that domicile-related relaxations will apply for candidates from Jammu and Kashmir.
Positions across the biofuels sector are expected to include engineers, technicians and R&D specialists, while the consumer retailing division is likely to offer roles for retail managers and sales officers. The finance department is looking for accountants and analysts, and the HR wing will require recruitment specialists and personnel executives. In the legal domain, corporate lawyers and legal advisors are expected to be hired, while the information systems segment is open to IT professionals and cybersecurity experts. The company is also inviting applications from doctors and occupational health experts for medical roles, and from professionals with experience in solar and wind energy for its renewables segment. In addition, scientists and engineers are sought for its research and development arm.
The application process began on May 21, 2025. Interested candidates must apply online through BPCL’s official careers portal, where detailed job descriptions, qualification requirements, and experience criteria are available. The last date for application submission has not yet been announced, and the company has advised applicants to check the portal regularly for updates and further instructions. Applicants from Jammu and Kashmir can filter roles by their qualifications and submit applications accordingly.
Candidates selected through this process may be posted at any BPCL location in the country, including operational and administrative units in Jammu and Kashmir. These could include retail fuel outlets, field offices or corporate service centres operating in the region. The selection process will involve a combination of written tests, group discussions and personal interviews, depending on the specific requirements of each position. BPCL may provide travel reimbursement for shortlisted candidates attending interviews, subject to company policy.
The company has noted that language skills, particularly fluency in Hindi or Urdu, could serve as an added advantage in consumer-facing roles, especially in retail operations.
