SRINAGAR: For the post of junior telecom officer-telecom (JTO-T), Union Government owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is going to recruit about 2,510 graduate engineers, as announced by the company.

Those candidates who have appeared in GATE 2017 exam, held in February, can apply for the job, reports said. From March 6 the candidates can submit their online application for the posts through the BSNL’s external exam website and process will continue until April 6.

The selection of the candidates will be made on the basis of valid GATE score 2017, reports said and BSNL will not conduct any further examination or interview for this purpose.

For the state of Jammu & Kashmir the total number of vacancies are 84 that include , 22 OBC, 6 each for Social Cast and Social Tribe and two for PWD categories.

As per the recently revealed figures by the state government there are 1662 unemployed youth with engineering degrees registered with the department of the employment.

A circle-based cadre, JTO (T), candidates will be selected against the vacancies of a particular circle and will have to serve in a particular circle until they are promoted to the all India cadre, reports mentioned.

The reports further added that the candidates will be allowed to apply only for one circle in which they desire to serve. Once a circle is selected by a candidate, no request for change is going to be accepted. The circle wise merit list will be prepared from GATE Score-2017 and accordingly circle wise cut off will be decided based on the vacancy in the circle, the company has clarified.

The posts carry IDA pay scale Executive (E-1) of Rs 16,400-Rs 40,500 with annual increment @ 3% of basic pay plus IDA, HRA, perks, medical benefits, etc. admissible as per the BSNL Company rules, reports said.
