SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday extended greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha, which will be celebrated on Saturday, June 7.
In his message, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah conveyed wishes of peace, well-being, and prosperity to the people. He said Eid-ul-Adha commemorates the example of faith and obedience set by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and Prophet Ismail (AS), and called on people to imbibe honesty, truthfulness, and selflessness in their daily lives.
He added that the festival is a reminder of selflessness and submission to the will of Almighty, and expressed hope that the occasion would strengthen communal harmony and mutual brotherhood in the region. He also prayed for sustained peace and progress in Jammu and Kashmir.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also extended his greetings and said the festival represents sacrifice and forgiveness. He called for efforts to promote unity and harmony, and urged people to work with compassion to ensure collective well-being.
“May this festival spread peace and bring prosperity to all,” the Lieutenant Governor said in his message.
